Between the two of us, we have a lovely family, a beautiful home, and the privilege of living in a wonderful part of the world. We have been around long enough to accumulate what we need — and then some. Honestly, probably too much.
The people flying in from across the country, rearranging their summers, and standing with us at the foot of the Tooth of Time on August 14th — that is the gift. Your presence is not a formality. It is the whole point.
The groom, characteristically, suggested we flip the whole thing around — register for a box of items we send you. The bride has not ruled it out.
If you feel strongly about marking the occasion with something tangible, a contribution toward a future adventure together — a trip, a trail, a place neither of us has been — would mean more to us than anything on a department store shelf. We will leave that entirely to your imagination and generosity.
And if you show up empty-handed and full of heart, you will have gotten it exactly right.
